Bobcats’ Updated Sports Schedules From Sandy Postponements

A question that has been on the minds of many students and parents within the Bel Air High School community is what will be the impact of Hurricane Sandy on the postponed athletic events due to Harford County Public Schools being closed, and when will these games be made up?  The Bellarion has tried to answer that question to the best of our ability.

The following information in regard to these events comes from Ms. Hemmes (the Bel Air High School Athletic Director), Mr. Ken Zorbach (Harford County Public Schools Supervisor of Athletics) and the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA).

Please note:  This information is acting under the ASSUMPTION that Harford County Public Schools WILL BE opened on Thursday, November 1st (THERE HAS BEEN NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT SCHOOLS THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST).  IF schools remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 1st The Bellarion will publish a new schedule.  Please note, there have been several changes to this story.

JV Football vs CMW will be played on Monday, November 5th at 6:00 pm at Bel Air High School.

Girls’ Volleyball UCBAC Championship Game on Thursday, Nov. 1st at Patterson Mill vs North Harford at 7:00 pm.

Cross Country Regional Meet will be run on Friday, November 2nd at 3:00 pm at Jerusalem Mill.

Boys’ Volleyball County Tournament will still be played on Thursday, November 1st at C. Milton Wright.

Field Hockey at Hereford High School on Thursday, November 1st at 4:00 pm.

Girls’ Soccer vs Digital Harbor on Thursday, November 1st at 3:30 pm at Bel Air High School.

Varsity Football at C. Milton Wright on Saturday, November 3rd game time to be announced.

**Please remember, students will not be in school on Friday, November 2nd and Monday, November 5th due to Teacher Inservice Meetings and schools will be closed on Tuesday, November 6th for elections.  Athletes should check with their coaches for when and where they should meet before their games.
